The Sacrifice of Sayyidina Ibrahim Alayhissalam and Sayyidina Ismail Alayhissalam

Mawlana Shaykh Hisham Kabbani | Friday, Dec 05, 2008 | Burton US

O Muslims! Believers. In two days time it is the Eid of al-Adha. It is the day that Allah swt ordered Sayyidina Ibrahim Alayhissalam to slaughter and to give as a sacrifice his son, to Allah swt.

And that is an important day that Ibrahim Alayhissalam was been tested and it was on Arafat day, one day before Eid. When Allah swt wants to see if Ibrahim Alayhissalam will listen and obey or not.

So before entering in the story, which we will summarize it, the Prophet (s) mentioned many hadith about the day of Arafat and I will quote one or two hadiths in order that it will benefit us.

It says that `an abi hurayran `an an-Nabi (s), man saama yawma `arafa ghafar'allahu ta`ala ma taqadam min dhanbih. Allah will forgive All his sins up to that day. For Allah that is a very important day. All the pilgrims who went for hajj are asking Allah for forgiveness and saying labayk Allahuma labayk, labayk la shareek laka labayk. Inna al-hamda w'an-ni`mata laka wa'l-mulk la shareeka lak. They are showing unity in one cloth, one dress, king, president, normal people in one dress keeping the hadith: "there is no different between Arab and non-Arab except through righteousness."

It is so simple if Allah will give us energy and support to fast that day which is Sunday the benefit is that all sins you made form before that day have been forgive and you will be as if newly born. and the Prophet (s) said in another hadith said:

عن أبي هريرة رضي الله عنه قال سمعت النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم يقول :( من حج لله فلم يرفث ولم يفسق رجع كيوم ولدته أمه ) رواه البخاري

"Whoever make hajj and does not engage in (lawful) sexual relations and does no wickedness and does not argue, returns as the day his mother bore him." [Bukhari

for as Allah said:

For Hajj are the months well known. If any one undertakes that duty therein, Let there be no obscenity, nor wickedness, nor wrangling in the Hajj. And whatever good ye do, (be sure) Allah knoweth it. And take a provision (With you) for the journey, but the best of provisions is right conduct. So fear Me, o ye that are wise. Al-Baqara [2:197]

So: la rafatha wa la fusooq wa la jidaala fi'l-hajj, … you cannot have any sexual relations with your wife and you cannot look at anything that is haraam and if you avoid arguing too much, then you return from hajj as if you are newly born.

So it means that Allah doesn't like in hajj arguments or backbiting or rumors in hajj and he doesn't allow any sexual relationship because you are going for worship you cannot do that in worship.

So the most important principle of hajj is Arafat, if you missed it you missed the main principle and fundamental of hajj. That is why Arafat is the most important day of hajj and why the Prophet (s) recommended to fast that day.

When Allah revealed the verse about Arafat:

الْيَوْمَ أَكْمَلْتُ لَكُمْ دِينَكُمْ وَأَتْمَمْتُ عَلَيْكُمْ نِعْمَتِي وَرَضِيتُ لَكُمُ الإِسْلاَمَ دِينًا

alyawma akmaltu lakum daeenakum wa atmamtu `alaykum ni`matee wa radeetu lakum al-islamu deena.

This day have I perfected your religion for you, completed My favour upon you, and have chosen for you Islam as your religion. 5:3

This day I have completed for you religion and I am continuously giving you my favor. And the Sahaba were happy that they have been victorious evil powers and they opened Mecca and they were able to go back and make pilgrimage. All were happy but Sayyidina Abu Bakr as-Siddiq, he was crying. They asked him, "why are you crying?" He said, "maa b`ad al-kamaal illa an-nuqsaan - When you achieve the highest level there is nothing except going down." [It means] When the moon reaches the full there is nothing else but to go down.

He said, "we are going to see sadness in our lives. I feel that the Prophet (s) is not going to be among us." And after exactly 80 days the Prophet (s) left dunya. So it was the last hajj and the last `umrah for the Prophet (s). and that hadith came for the importance of fasting on that day.

So O Muslims! Try to fast on that day. If you have excuse it is ok if you don't have sickness s or dizziness it is ok. Then if you can fast then Allah will forgive you your mistakes.

It is called `Arafat because `Arafat is from `arafa, it is that Allah introduced or made something clear. What did he make clear? He made it clear to Ibrahim Alayhissalam to sacrifice his son and that is one of the reasons it has that same. To make clear to Ibrahim Alayhissalam.

And it is said in traditions. In the seerah, in Tafsir an-Nisaburi, that Hajar the wife of Sayyidina Ibrahim Alayhissalam was not happy after Sayyidina Ibrahim Alayhissalam married her and she was feeling that there was a problem with his wife Sara, the first wife and so she decided to leave. And when she was leaving she heard a message saying to her, "Where are you going? You are going to have a child. You are going to have too many offspring that are coming from you. Stay where you are, don't run away."

She stayed and Allah made her pregnant with Sayyidina Isma`il Alayhissalam. And after the boy grew up Sayyidina Ibrahim Alayhissalam was taking care of that child and used to love him so much and one day, Allah swt, in a certain moment ordered Jibreel, "go, Ya Jibreel and tell Ibrahim Alayhissalam to slaughter his son for me!" and Jibreel Alayhissalam he said, "Ya Rabbee. I made a good relations hip with Ibrahim Alayhissalam. You were sending me with revelation to him. I cannot. I will do Your order, but if there is a way he will get that directly without me giving him that news that will be great." Allah is the merciful one he sent that ruya to Ibrahim Alayhissalam.

Falamma balagha ma`ahu as-sa`ya qaala ya bunayya innee araa fi 'l-manaami annee adhbahuka fa undhur madhaa taraa qaala ya abatee if`al maa tumaru sa-tajidunee insha- Allahu mina as-saabireen

Then, when (the son) reached (the age of) (serious) work with him, he said: "O my son! I see in vision that I offer thee in sacrifice: Now see what is thy view!" (The son) said: "O my father! Do as thou art commanded: thou will find me, if Allah so wills one practising Patience and Constancy!" As-Saffat [37:102]

Qaala ya bunaya innee araa fi'l-manami… he is seeing the dream one after another time.

So the first time he sacrificed 100 sheep for the sake of his son.

So that is why sincere people today when they have a serious sickness like cancer, they go an sacrifice 100 sheep and many times we observe that the patient was cured due to the sacrifice.

So after that he saw the dream another time. And he thought Allah would accept the slaughter of 100 sheep. But he saw dream again and then 3rd time.

Then he told his wife to put oil on the head of his son and he would take him out. And the wife asked "where are you taking him?" He said, "I have been ordered by Allah to sacrifice my son." She looked at her son and looked at Sayyidina Ibrahim Alayhissalam and said, "If Allah ordered you to do that, you do it." And then he took his son up to the mountain and then told him, "Let us play as they play today, hide and seek, put on the blindfold."

Isma`il Alayhissalam said, "O my father why are you wasting my time. Do what you have been ordered. I am not afraid. He wants me to be a sacrifice let it be. O my father be patient on difficulty, no problems. Don't lose your temper. I am ok, take me and slaughter me but take the shirt that is on me and take it to my mother before it gets blood on it. And take it to my mother so she will remember me with that shirt, and tell my mother that I left my son to the One who is better than everyone. I left my son to Allah swt."

Faqala Ibrahim ya rabb irham d`afee wa kibra sannee. Ibrahim said, "O Allah be merciful with me," fa in lam tarhamnee farham hadha al-walad alladhee la dhamba lah. They say he was 7 or 9 years and the angels fell into crying and doors of heavens opened, as soon as that happened he took the knife and put it on his neck and in some narrations they say that Isma`il Alayhissalam smelled some meat barbecuing. He said, "O my father what happened? I am smelling barbecue." He said, "O my son this is the smell of my heart."

Look how Allah is giving us good life and we are complaining. Allah ordered Jibreel to go quickly: "adrikhu idha qata` as-sakeen shaya la-mahwanaak - If you don't stop it I will take you from My Presence" and Jibreel ordered the knife to stop fa lam taqta` shayan and in the Tafsir of an-Nasafi, Ibrahim Alayhissalam felt he didn't fulfill the order of Allah and he took it and threw it as if it became a useless knife. Allah hid from him that He had ordered Jibreel to prevent the knife from cutting. The knife asked, "Why are you angry?" to Ibrahim Alayhissalam and he said, "Because you didn't cut what Allah wants you to cut." And the knife said, "If you are angry with me why are you not angry with the fire of Nimrod that they throw you in and it didn't not burn you?" he said, "because Allah ordered the fire not to burn me." And the knife said, "And Allah ordered me not to cut Isma`il's neck." And the knife said, "Jibreel ordered me 70 times not to cut - I was cutting and I was ordered not to cut."

And then Isma`il Alayhissalam, when Ibrahim Alayhissalam took him out and Allah ordered him to slaughter a ram for safety of Sayyidina Isma`il Alayhissalam he said to his father, Let me ask this question of you. Are you more generous or you? a-ana akramu minka aw anta." Qala Ibrahim Alayhissalam, ..ana akram minka fa ana takaramtu waladee… Ibrahim (s) said, " I gave you - I gave my son." (and remember Sayyidina Isma`il Alayhissalam is carrying the light of Sayyidina Muhammad (s), how is he going to die? It is test for Sayyidina Ibrahim Alayhissalam. It is test for us. Are we going to sacrifice for sake of the Prophet or not. Are we doing to follow his Sunnah or not. Are we going to obey or not).

So Sayyidina Isma`il Alayhissalam said, "No I am better. You were generous to give me but I gave my soul - Ana takaramtu ruhee. I am the one who is losing. You are not giving your soul. You are giving me. For the sake of the whole Ummah." He is carrying the secret of Sayyidina Muhammad (s).

This `Arafah is an important day and it is day of sacrifice. Let us try to fast that today and asking Allah "O our Lord! Forgive us our sins, for the sake of Sayyidina Muhammad (s), for the sake of Sayyidina Ibrahim Alayhissalam; for the sake of Sayyidina Isma`il Alayhissalam and for the sake of those standing on `Arafah. Share us with their pilgrimage and write us from those who went for this pilgrimage and with every pilgrimage and share us with the Prophet's pilgrimage."

Love of the Prophet PEACE BE UPON HIM

Shaykh Muhammad Hisham Kabbani

Islamic Educational Center, Fremont, January 27, 2003
[Began w/ an Introduction by host Professor Muhammad Ahmad]
Audhu billahi min ash-shaytan ir-rajeem Bismillah ir-rahman ir-raheem
Nawaytul-arba`een, nawaytul 'itikaaf, nawaytul khalwa, nawaytul `uzla, nawaytus salook, nawaytul riyaada lillahi ta`ala al-`adheem fee hadhal masjid.
It is an honor for me to come and listen to the advice, it is not a lecture, an advice from the Professor on the love of Sayyidina Muhammad (s). I really came to listen only. I am not feeling that I have to add anything, because when the love of the Prophet (s) comes, we must all feel burned in that love.
"Ya Sayyidi ya Rasulullah!" Just now I was hearing that in the advice that was being presented by the Professor. On the necessity, Dr. Professor Muhammad Qadri, to love the Prophet (s). There is no need to say professor or doctor, Muhammad Ahmad is enough of an honor. Alhamdulillah.
It is a fakhr to be named after Sayiddina Muhammad (s). We are not Wahabi, happy with the diploma we take from the university. Who cares for that?
I heard that at the beginning, when this gathering first started, there were two people coming and listening. Since then it has been continously improving and now we are seeing hundreds of people here.
That shows you are on the right path. I was in Houston yesterday and I was giving an advice in Ghawth `Adham mosque. And masha-Allah, a lot of people from Tariqat al-Qadiriyya invited me to that big event and you could feel there that same feeling of love for the Prophet (s).
Now to love the Prophet (s) is something that we have to feel in our hearts. If we don't feel it and don't know it and don't learn it and don't practice it, then it is only by the tongue. That is why Shaykh Muhammad Ahmad Qadiri, mentioned a hadith of the Prophet (s), "la yuminu ahadakum hatta akunu ahaba ilaykum min walidihi wa waalihi wa an-naasi ijma`een." That means, "You will not achieve true belief until you love me; you have to love me more than you love your parents, yourself and your children and the whole of humanity."
If we look at ourselves today, if our child is sick and you need to take him to a hospital, your life is disturbed. You cannot sleep one hour, without feeling, "My son" or "My daughter." You keep saying to yourself, "My son," or "My daughter" You have that feeling of taking care of that son or that daughter. That is the simple balance or scale that we can use to look at ourselves with. Is that love to the Prophet like the love of our children in our heart or not? If that does not exist, and I am sure it does not, then we have to improve it.
That is what Shaykh Muhammad Ahmad also mentioned that verse:
"Qul in kuntum tuhiboon Allaha fat-tabi`oonee yuhbibkumullah wa yaghfir lakum dhunubakum."
"Say: 'If ye do love Allah, Follow me: Allah will love you and forgive you your sins: For Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.'" [3:31]
It is not the Prophet (s) who said it - it is Allah who said: "Ya Muhammad, say to them, 'If you love Allah, then follow me, Allah loves you.'" Who is that verse for? For everyone; for the Sahaba. I love the Prophet I hope, and everyone loves the Prophet (s). And the Sahaba loved the Prophet (s). So how am I going to love the Prophet when I need to see him and to follow him? How do I follow him if I don't see his footsteps?
So the Sahaba saw the footsteps of the Prophet (s) and he showed them the reality of how to follow. He took them by the hand and they moved, he was guiding them.
But that verse of the Holy Qur'an is for the whole Ummah, from its beginning to its end. That is giving a hidden meaning here. The Prophet (s) was with the Sahaba to guide them. That means the Prophet's presence must exist at all times for all the people, for mankind to follow.
"Wa`alamu anna feekum Rasulullah."
"Know that the Prophet is within you." [49:7]
He did not say he is "baynakum", "among you", but He swt said, "feekum" - "in you." The Holy Qur'an is delicate in every letter and every sentence. If the Prophet (s) is in us, so then Allah is saying to us here, "where then is he now?"
I was hearing an example of this [taps mike]. Are you hearing this? [yes] Why are you hearing it?
That is a voice. That tapping is creating a voice that has a wavelength and the wavelength moves all around space, throughout the universe, and never dies. Those who know physics, eng., know that. That wavelength is moving through space, so that when I tap, that wave moves through space - if you have a receiver you hear it and if you don't you do not hear it.
We are hearing from billions of years, voices coming from the universe, because we have big receivers, we are hearing some thing and yet we are not able to hear something else, it is impossible. Every voice has to be heard if you have the right equipment, because waves move around the world.
When Sayiddina Muhammad (s) read the Holy Qur'an, that wave is ever-living and it does not end. If you want to take it from a Physics point of view. So if that voice is there, why can we not hear it? Because there is something wrong with our equipment.
There is something wrong. What about the hadith, "ma zaala `abdee yataqaraba ilayya bin-nawaafil hatta uhibah. Fa idha ahbabtahu kuntu sama`ulladhee yasma`u bihi wa basarahulladhee yubsiru bihi, wa yadahulladhee yubtishu bihi wa lisanahulladhee yatakallama bih." "My servant does not cease to approach Me through voluntary worship until I will love him. When I love him, I will become the ears with which he hears, the eyes with which he sees the hand with which he acts and the tongue with which he speaks."
A servant approaches through voluntary worship until I love him, as Shaykh Muhammad Ahmad Mahmoud Qadiri, [add that] said that love of Sayiddina Muhammad is important. The Sahaba, from love of the Prophet, they did listened to the Prophet and said, "Yes, Ya Rasulullah, we accept whatever you said." The munafiqeen (hypocrites) tried to create doubts. But the Sahaba said, "na`m sadaqta ya Rasulullah!" on the night of Ascension. But that love is important. It comes about not through obligations, but He said, "ma zaala `abdee yataqaraba ilayya bi-nawaafil hatta uhibah" - through voluntary worship.
Is that obligation in Qur'an, came in heavens or the Prophet did it himself out of love. Out of love the Prophet (s) did it. The obligations, you have to do, you are forced, if not you go to jahannam. It is an obligation, you cannot reach to love of Allah through it. Voluntary worship, there is a way out of it, because if you don't do it you will still go to paradise. But you will not be in that situation mentioned in that hadith. That means if the servant loves Me through Muhammad, by means of nawafil, voluntary worship, then I will love him, it is a reciprocal relationship. It has to be from you first, because Allah already loves His servant. But you have to put your plug, your wire and make the connection from your side.
Then what happens. The hadith "kuntu sama`ulladhee yasma`u bih" That means, "I will give him a special receiver to hear, that he will hear only what that wali can hear." I am going to give him what people cannot hear? What can people not hear? You cannot hear, he cannot hear, . you will hear the voice that people cannot hear because they don't have that opening in their ears. He will give you from that attribute as-Sam`ee, as Sariya heard Sayyidina `Umar's voice from Sham. "O Sariya! Keep to the mountain," from Madina to Sham.1
Sariya was able to hear. Sayyidina `Umar (r) was able to hear and to see. So Sariya has an audio voice only. Sayyidina Umar has video and audio. That is technology from 1400 years ago, since the time of the Prophet (s). Then the hadith continues, "I will give him sight that he can see with, I will be the eyes which he can see with." At that time you have audio, video and TV. Then you can see the Prophet (s) - how he is moving, how he is speaking, how he is acting, and then you can follow. If you cannot see that, then follow those who can. Not everyone can do that, only a few can do that, only awliya can do that, like Sayyidina Abdul Qadir Jilani.
Even though you mentioned Ibn Taymiyya, I don't like to mention him except to show the Wahabis that your "master" was a slave at the door of Sayyidina Abdul Qadir al-Jilani, and he praised him in the book Fatawa ibn Taymiyya.
Then you have audio, video, and that gives us the meaning that the prophet is always present, looking at you and seeing what you are doing. And if you are clever you will be able to see it. And if you are not, then follow one who is. That is an order in hadith, "in kuntum thalathah, fa-ameeru ahadakum" - "If you are three, make one your leader."
That ameer must not be blind, he must not be an unintellectual person. He must be a person who can see the footsteps of the Prophet (s).
I heard this story from my Shaykh and his father and grandfather are from the Qadiri tariqat. He did a complete seclusion in the maqam of Sayyidina Abdul Qadir Jilani for one whole year.
One lady brought her son to Sayyidina Abdul Qadir Jilani and said, "Ya Sayiddi I know you are the Ghawth, and I know for the sake of the Prophet you give." She was a poor lady and she always attended the suhbat, and she would see all the mureeds, disciples, attending the subhat (advice) and dhikr. And in front of each one was a big chicken and they were eating.
She said to herself, "Alhamdulillah, I am poor and Sayyidina Abdul Qadir is rich in both dunya and akhira. I will give my son to sit there. At least he will eat morning and evening."
She said, "I want my son to be your mureed."
He accepted. He was a very good-sized child. He told one mureed, Muhammad Ahmad, "Send him to the basement and give him the awrad for seclusion. And give him one piece of breads and olives to eat each day."
That lady came after one month and thought her son would be eating chicken. Then she saw the mureeds sitting and eating with perfect manners (adab); eating chicken.
She asked the Shaykh about her son. He said, "He is in basement eating special food." She was happy, as she thought since the mureeds are eating chicken, then probably he was eating beef.
She went down and saw her son - he had become very slim. But he was sitting reciting, and light was emitting from his face.
She came to him and said, "What is this?" He said, "That is what I am eating - a piece of bread." She went to Sayyidina Abdul Qadir Jilani (q), "I brought my son to be with you." As she spoke the Shaykh ordered his mureeds, "Eat." Each ate the chicken in front of him, not the pieces, but the entire chicken, with the bones. Then he said to her, "If you want your son to reach the level to eat the chicken with the bones, then he must go through tarbiyya - training." That tarbiyya is for raising and training the ego, which is the most difficult thing. That is what is needed.
al-Fatiha.
Allahumma salli 'ala Sayyidina Muhammadin nabi al-ummi wa 'ala Alihi wa Sahbihi wa sallim. Jumu`ah Mubarak.
NOTES:
[1] It is reported from Hazrat Ibn `Umar (r) that he said that Hazrat `Umar (r) dispatched an army, making one man called Sariyya (r) leader (amir) over it. It is said that one day Hazrat `Umaar (r) was delivering the Friday sermon. In it he said loudly "Ya Sariyya al-jabal!" "O Sariyya! [towards] the mountain." Then a courier came from the army and said: "O Commander of the Faithful! We were on the verge of being defeated when we heard a voice thrice: "Ya Sariyya al-jabal!" So we moved the back our army near the mountain and Allah Most Holy defeated them." Ibn `Umar (r) says that Hazrat `Umar (r) was told that it was he who was shouting in that voice.

Hazrat Ibn `Umar (r) mentions that his father Hazrat `Umar (r) was delivering a sermon on Friday in the middle of his khutba he shouted, "Ya Sariyya al-jabal!" "O Sariyya! [towards] the mountain," and then he resumed his khutba and said, "He who stole a wolf, he oppressed." (i.e. he who fed and watered the enemy, he committed an act of oppression). So some people look at others (i.e. what is this matter?). Hazrat `Ali (r) said to them "He himself would say (something) about this statement." When the people had finished the prayer, they asked Hazrat `Umar (r). He said, "The idea crossed my mind that the idolaters defeated our brethren and the idolaters would run towards the mountain. So if the Muslims moved towards the mountain, they would have to fight from one side only, if they advanced, they would be destroyed. So those words escaped my mouth about which you say that you heard these words."
After a month came the deliver of good news. He said, "The people of the army heard Hazrat `Umar's (r) voice on that day. We all went towards the mountain and Allah made us victorious."

It says in one tradition that the people said to Hazrat `Ali (r), "Did not you hear Hazrat `Umar that while delivering the sermon from the pulpit he said, "Ya Sariyya al-jabal!"? Hazrat `Ali (r) said, "A thousand pities for you! Leave Hazrat `Umar (r) alone! Whenever he has entered anything, he has surely acquitted himself well.

Both riwayat mentioned in Life of the Companions, by Shaykh Kandhalvi.

Follow the Prophet Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam until the Light within You Shines

Shaykh Omar Kone:

Audhu billah min ash-shaytan ir-rajeem

Bismillahi 'r-Rahmani 'r-Raheem

Dastoor madad ya sayyidee

Alhamdulillah wa’sh-shukrulillah w’Allahu Akbar wa la hawla wa la quwatta illa billah il-`aliyy il-`adheem

We are giving endless thanks for the favor of being here tonight. If we are giving shukr until the end of time, it is not enough.

Sultan al-`Arifeen, Bayazid al-Bistami, was once addressing his students and saying that on Judgment Day Allah `azza wa jall is going to be calling all his servants and questioning them and on that day everyone is going to be so fearful that people don’t know their parents and from the heat of that tajallis their brain is going to be boiling.

On the day, when Allah is going to call me, whatever is the issue on that day it is ok. If He wants to send us to heaven it is ok and if He wants to send us to hellfire, it is ok.

Because on that day, Allah `azza wa jall, with all His mightiness, with all His greatness, with all His majesty, it will be such a favor that He calls us, that is enough for us. The issue of judgment or hell or heaven at that time, is not important.

So the favor of even being to say “Allah” one time is a great favor.

And we are heedless ones and I can speak only for myself. And that favor to say Allah’s name it is coming and coming and coming. We are favored to be from the last generation and favored to even know about Mawlana Shaykh, Sultan al-Awliya, if we are going to be thanking Allah, because the Prophet (s) blesses his Ummah from his presence but only Sahaba were witness to him. We were sitting all those nights and speaking about all these big awliya, and from our chain, Bayazid al-Bistami, Shah Bahauddin Naqshband, and Ghawth al-`Adham and Sayyidina Muhyideen ibn `Arabi and we are hoping we could even see one of them.

But we are forgetting and not recalling that what is with those is with our master Mawlana Shaykh Nazim. And to be able to see him, know him and praise him and to say salaam to him, that awliyaullah were looking all their life to be given such a favor. And we are so spoiled we are not even recognizing what we have.

And today Mawlana Shaykh was speaking about the blessings that are coming and raining on earth. So the few that are doing they are getting everything. For a favor that Allah `azza wa jall is showering us, to meet His holy servants. And Allah made us to be included in that special gathering and that group.

Those favors ...as we are weak ones and complaining day and night. We are ungrateful. The Prophet (s) warned us to recognize the favors and not be ungrateful.

Allah addressing his Holy Qur'an through His uncreated Words of light and lowering from His endless mightiness to the language of humankind. And what is more precious to us than the carrier of light of the Prophet (s)? The Sultan al-Awliya are carrying the light of Prophet (s). As that light was manifested for life to be in existence. And it cannot be leaving the earth. When the Prophet (s) was veiled from this world it was transferred from one to one to one until Mawlana Shaykh we believe in that. And that favor, I am shy to be addressing and it is enough we should be always remembering.

We should give shukr and hamd for all these favors and instances. Even so many times we are coming and kissing the hand of Mawlana Shaykh Hisham. And from the elementary laws of physics, when touching something atoms are exchanged and this is safety for us on Day of Judgment. That “O our Lord! We are the weakest ones and we have elements of that holy one.”

May Allah forgive me for addressing in front of Mawlana Shaykh and elders. And to be here on Eid night.

And may Allah grant us from the baraka of this majlis and the baraka of Mawlana Shaykh.

When you put a switch on, lights come, electricity comes and these lights shine, giving us light. We put the switch off, no more lights, even you have the lamps there, but no more light.

Theories are too many. But laboratories to get results to make discoveries, you have to go through laboratories in chemistry, and physics; in science. You cannot only go on theory. Theory is something that says to you “O there is light; this chandelier will give you light” but you don’t see the light. What is the benefit? So theories are too many that we learn, we hear but if it is not accompanied by laboratories, lab experiments you cannot see the result.

And what we are after is the result, not the theories. Speakers, they speak all over but unfortunately it is a theory because even speakers who achieved level of education, they don’t have training experiences in the result.

They can describe for you the chandelier but they cannot describe fro you the light. Because there is no light, the switch is not on, If is off.

Awliyaullah have a switch, it can be on, it can be off. And it can be, as they discovered today, dimming. You can have a very bright light or you can dim the light to a very low light.

We are lamps in their hands. Everyone of us is a lamp. Allah swt as he said, "He honored us.” He made us lamps. Shining. When a child is born, he is born shining. He is born with a light and slowly, slowly that light become dimmer and dimmer and fade and disappeared because of too much negative energy, pollution comes. He will be veiled or she will be veiled.

Why we are here, for what reason. Always it is a question. We are not seeing anything. We are in tariqah for many many years and we are not seeing. Is it correct. We cannot claim we are saying. Are you seeing? What we are seeing. Only ourself. Because the switch is not on, we are in darkness we cannot see.

So what is then the benefit? Awliyaullah they want us to shine but they want to put on the plug but they don’t want to burn the lamp. Because if you cannot absorb the electricity that is coming, the light that is coming, what happens to the lamp? It blows up. So they don’t want to blow you up. They want you to shine up.

Ey, we are coming and cleaning, but still there is a sign that we are trying to be on the main track because we are coming together. That is a good sign, although we are not seeing anything, but coming together is a sign that there is some kind of booster, that is coming form our shuyukh, from our shaykhs, boosting us at least to come, in at least a loving situation. Still it is a loving situation, muhibeen. We are not yet beginners in tariqah. That is why we must not claim that “we are this” or “we are that”. We must claim that “we are babies in this journey”. Whatever you try to speak, as we said in the previous session:

وَفَوْقَ كُلِّ ذِي عِلْمٍ عَلِيمٌ

Wa fawqa kulli dhi `ilmin `aleem - Above every knower there is a greater knower. Yusuf [12:76]

So what we are? If another higher knower comes you are nothing. If a knower above that come, then that one is nothing. So that is why we say Sultan al-Awliya. That is the Ghawth, no one higher in knowledge than that one, except the Prophet (s).

Just today when we were sitting before Maghrib, sitting to break fast someone handed me the phone and said, " “O there is a call. Someone from Mecca, Ahl al-Bayt, a scholar, is calling.”

I am giving that example only to show where we are standing and where is reality. And this I am speaking to everyone who likes to hear. And that is to me and to everyone. He said salams from this one and salaams from that one, many ashraaf from Mecca the descendants of the Prophet (s) sending their salaams. And he said, "they called and you gave him the telephone, he said, "I want to tell you this dream. It is a very significant dream to me.”

That happened two days ago, before I sent him an SMS congratulating for an important event, two days ago. He called back and said, "I want to tell you what I saw in the dream when you sent the SMS. I was sleeping after praying taraweeh, doing my awraad, I was sleeping and a shaykh appeared. And it was that shaykh I know him very well, he is our shaykh Mawlana Shaykh Nazim. But he was not talking to me, and there is one on his right side, who I know very well who was talking to me.” And I will not mention his name and he is at a lower [station].

And he said to me, “How do you hear the voice of Allah? And how you see Allah?” In that dream Mawlana Shaykh Nazim is not saying anything, but that one is saying to me and he said, "I didn’t know what to answer.” That is in the dream. I didn’t know what to answer. Then he looked at me and said, "Do you want to see and do you want to hear?” Adab, I didn’t say anything. Of course I want to see and I want to hear. But my mouth is frozen. Then he put his shahada finger on my jugular vein on my neck and I was feeling the beat of the heart; the pumping of the heart. Here you can put your finger and you can feel it. Do you feel it? I was feeling the beat of the heart and the skin below moving. As soon as he put the finger everything opened up. I was seeing things that I never imagined. I was in an ecstasy that I never felt it before and I begin to hear voices and praise of angels that I never heard before. Then I woke up, but in a state of rash, shivering in Allah’s love was with me until today. I am telling you that. Then in the morning my wife said, "what is on your neck.” I looked in the mirror and I saw the sign of the finger on my neck and it is there up to today.

That is what he saw, and then he is asking me some questions to read these questions and what I explained for him of the dream. And he said, "til now that sign is still there. At the moment he talked to me and I am feeling under that place where that shaykh put his hand, the heartbeats and every heart beat says ‘Allah, Allah, Allah.’”

That is a reality; that is an experience. But because he is not yet to the level of vision, it came through a dream, else he will immediately be in a complete coma, he cannot take it. It will be like voltage through a switch of 360. There are 360 ways in the heart of human being. Every way, and every tariq, and every direction, there are 360 directions that the Prophet (s) told us that Allah created in our system, as the Chinese say, points, that each of them shows you a way to Allah.

Now I am throwing that to you. Think where are you at what level compared to that person’s level. Where are we standing? Zero.

So the beauty of tariqah is not theory. We can speak day and night. But the importance is action. What we have to act and what are going to be the results. It is not only “qawlan bal `amalan - it is not only to say, but to act and have an action.” When you end there must be a result. When you do something there is a product. But when you say by tongue there is no product. So if you la ilaha illa-Allah it means “there is no god except Allah.” But our ego what is says? “I am your god. O you cannot come out of my control, I will kill you.” There is a struggle. So when you really act on what you say then you can active these experiences that some people have achieved as they have already gone further down the road in tariqah and thy begin to fee that. Now on the way you may find many hypocrites that claim they see or claim they hear. Either they are hallucinating because the one who is achieving must be very pure: who Doesn't talk too much, doesn’t backbite. There are signs you can read from people’s eyes. There are many claiming that but these are charlatans. But our problem is we are struggling in order to take away the charlatan picture from us and to purify our self. What I mean by charlatan, is those who didn’t reach a level and still they claim they reached. No! For what? Say, “I don’t know anything.” Allah will cover you and veil you but you cannot claim something and do the opposite. Say, “I am like you. I am heedless, helpless and weak, and we cannot achieve. We are asking that our shaykh to switch on - that is what we need.”

And that light will come. Now there is light. There is a lamp but it is still in a dim position. From one to another it changes everyone according to his level. But we have to do more.

For example they told us we have to do 500 times “Ya Samad” a day. Why? To take away the childish action of the ego. Why? Because the child has a childish ego, if he doesn’t get something he cries, cries, cries. When a child asks for something don’t give him. When he forgets then you give. But we have a problem: we have been raised on the ego. So the problem we have to recite “Ya Samad.” That is a secret to bring down the ego. That is the child of the blameworthy self.

Is it correct.? He said “yes”. So 500 “Ya Samad” will take that down. So slowly, slowly your ego cannot claim anything. But we are not doing it. So we are leaving loose our ego. And awliyaullah want you to be like a horse with a bridle. You pull it, the horse stops from running. The ego is like the horse, running everywhere. You have to put the bridle to stop that horse. How? 500 times “Ya Samad.”

We are claiming that we are attending associations of shaykhs. Of course their associations are full of beauty and love and manifestations of blessings that Allah will shower us with. But that is from Allah’s mercy. Allah wants us to do an action. To act on what we are supposed to do. So once they said, "awliyaullah do 500 times ‘Ya Samad’.” That will take that problem down.

So for everything there is sickness and there is a medicine. The awliyaullah give right medicine for the right sickness. If you want to benefit you must follow.

Qul in kuntum tuhibboon-Allaha faittabi`oonee yuhbibkumu Allahu wa yaghfir lakum dhunoobakum w’Allahu ghafoorun raheem.

Say: "If ye do love Allah, Follow me: Allah will love you and forgive you your sins: For Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful." Al-Imran [3:31]

Allah said to the Prophet (s), “If you really love me follow.” Are we following?

You know in some airports there is a car, before, now the plane goes direct to the gate. But before there was a car written on it “follow me”. When the airplane lands it follows the sign. It goes and stops in the yard or area for airplanes - there was no jetway at that time.

Allah said, "Follow Muhammad." If we follow we reach. If you really love Allah follow. Then what will happen? Then you being to see as that person was seeing - in a vision. So that is an example of one person. How many of these there are in the journey of gnosticism. So real teaching, real awliyaullah, they have their mureeds who are able to move mountains; not their representatives even. Their mureeds.

Now there are two kinds of representatives. There are lovers (muhiboon) and representatives among the lovers. And there are representatives from among mureeds who have the power of guidance. So we are asking, “Ya Rabbee, make our shuyukh to be happy with us that they will guide us to the right way and to switch on the switch. We ask them from here. You know we are heedless and You say You are generous. Because Allah gave them generosity. What is the problem if You push that switch? What are You going to lose. Kun fayakoon – Be! And it will be.. Put that plug up and finished. Why are You making us to suffer? To run and run and run. Put that plug up. That switch up. Everyone finished will be in that [Divine] presence. Why do we have to do this and do that?"

جاء رجل إلى رسول الله صلى الله عليه و سلم و قال” يا رسول الله إن شرائع الإسلام قد كثرت علىّ فدلني على عمل أتشبث به قال لا يزال لسانك رطباً بذكر الله “

One person came to the Prophet (s), and said, “The laws and discipline in Islam is too much I cannot take it.”

See how much they are becoming a reality between them and the Prophet (s). So the Prophet (s) is patient with them, he hears and listens to them. “Give me something easy, please. I am fed up.” So he said, لا يزال لسانك رطباً بذكر الله - ija`la lisanak ratban bi dhikrullah.” He left. He was happy with doing dhikr. What they are going to lose if they put that switch on for us. We are asking a question .you are the ones that Allah and his prophet has chose. We are coming to your door, is there any harm to you put on the switch. If not, then that is our property that Allah gave to you. Give it to us. They like that they ar spoiled brats. If they want to close their door to where are we going. Which door we have to go?

I am leaving among you that which if you hold to it, you shall never go astray, one of them greater than the other: Allah's Book?a rope extended down from the heaven to the earth?and my mantle (`itra), the People of my House. These two shall never part ways until they come to me at the Pond. Look well to how you act with them after me. [al-Tirmidhi (hasan ghareeb) and al-Hakim]

تركت فيكم ما إن تمسكتم به لن تضلوا كتاب الله وسنتي

The Prophet (s) said, “I left behind me the Holy Qur'an and the Sunnah.” [al-Bayhaqi in al-Sunan al-kubra, al-Hakim and Malik in his Muwatta] And the Prophet (s) said, “I left behind the Holy Qur'an and my family.” [two different hadiths]

The Prophet (s) said that, so you are the one who has the control on the switches. He said, “My family.” We are from your family, Ya sayyidee, ya Rasulullah.

Then what will happen. The elder ones will ask. You think on Judgment Day that Allah will not save the family of the prophet. Of course hasha, istaghfirullah, will he lose anything. If he sends His servant to Paradise what is the loss? It is benefit. It is loss for shaytan. Allah is not going to let shaytan to win. The power is for Allah. May Allah forgive us. I was not going to speak but Shaykh Omar made me to speak.

Bi hurmati’l-Fatiha.

You have to show a very delicate issue in tariqah. You have to show you are worthless. You have to show humility and humbleness. Whenever there is an opportunity, try. You cannot sit and say, “I know everything I am going to speak.” No let this one speak, let that one speak. Then Allah’s mercy will come. He knows you are trying to put these people u and he will put you up. If you put people down He puts you down. Show you are in need to listen to them. Don’t always to sit on the main chair and say, “I am the shaykh.” Be a sheep; don’t be a shepherd. The shepherd is responsible. We have to run away from responsibility. O Allah keep us children. We cannot save ourselves and not those around us. We are coming to the Prophet (s) and those around him asking them to save us.

The Story of How Shaykh Hisham Kissed the Threshold of Prophet Muhammad

Mawlana Shaykh Hisham Kabbani | Friday, Oct 24, 2008 | Chicago, IL US

Introduction by Imam Haqqani

I think that Allah gave us baraka and blessings that fadilat ash-shaykh `Abdus Sattar Khan and fadilat ash-shaykh Shaykh Muhammad Hisham Kabbani we will get the baraka. I have been asking the Shaykh to come for long time and alhamdulillah that day is here.

Shaykh `Abdus-Sattar Khan

Qad qaala Allah swt b`ad Audhu billah min ash-shaytan ir-rajeem Bismillahi 'r-Rahmani 'r-Raheem ya ayyuhalladheena aamanoo ittaqoollah wa koonoo ma` as-sadiqeen

[speech in Urdu]

Shaykh Jamaluddin

I did not come to here speak my only intention to come here was to hear Shaykh Hisham speak.

My first meeting with Shaykh Hisham was in Madinat al-Munawwarah and he was there at the grave of Sayyida Fatima az-Zahra, and he was praying there and I was watching him and he was praying for so long, I don’t know what kind of supplications he was making, for 45 minutes and after that I went and kissed his hand.

I am not a great orator, Allahuma innee asa’luka bi sirri Abu Bakr as-Siddiq…

Fadilat ash-shaykh Hazrat Kabbani sahib is a well known shaykh and well-known scholar, may Allah bless him and we are so proud that shaykh is here and I don’t have to say anything because everyone is aware of that.

Shaykh Muhammad Hisham Kabbani

After your permission.

As-salama layaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakutuh.

Bismillahi 'r-Rahmani 'r-Raheem alhamdulilahi rabbi’l-`alameen was-salaat was-salaam ala sayyid al mursaleen … wa nashadu an la ilah ila-Allah wa nashadu anna Sayyidina Muhammad (s) …khatim ar-rusul sayyid al-bashr, rasuli rabbi’l-`alameen.

I don’t know from where I begin. May Allah bless Husayn Haqqani we are very happy we are here in this place that he opened with a lot of difficulties but this is a place for Ahl as-Sunnah wal-Jama`at.

And I asked for a title of what to speak and he said, "spirituality in Islam” and in front of Mawlana Abdus Sattar Khan I feel I have nothing to say and he is a role model for everyone to follow and brother Jamaluddin he brought a story that is many, many years behind.

And I will bring the story from the beginning.

That is one day I was in Jeddah and I decide to visit, because every Friday and Thursday I used to go to Madinat al-Munawwara to pray there as I was most of the time living there. So one day I was going and to the house I received a call form my Shaykh who is Cyprus and many of you know him and especially Shaykh Abdus Sattar Khan he is Mawlana Shaykh Muhammad Nazim al-Haqqani. He said, "Where are you going?” if there is permission I am going to visit the Prophet (s). He said, "Kiss his threshold for me.” And when someone says something like that to you what do you say, "Especially your shaykh. But your mind begins to think, “How am I going to do that with all these barriers and guards? It is impossible.”

So I went and I said it yesterday and I repeat it today: that when the Prophet (s) went into Isra and Mi’raj - and this is problem many of us are facing today and the answer comes with this story, and this is the meaning of spirituality. Spirituality is not something you hav to do but it is something besides charity and fasting and prayer and hajj but it is the way to reach the maqam al-ihsan that Mawlana Abdus Sattar quoted the hadith of Sayyidina `Umar (r) to reach state of Ihsan, you have to do the five pillars of Islam and accept the 6 pillars of iman and how to reach the state of Ihsan. And especially that is very complex and difficult to something you say I will go to that station by myself and then find oneself turning in circles. You must have guide. And if you seek out you will find the guides. Saints. And all saints are brothers and all of them love each other. I am not speaking about false saints but I am speaking about real saints that give their lives for their students.

So that time I went and that time I was driving 150, 160 km./hour about 120 miles per hour in order to reach quickly. Because he said, "go and kiss the threshold of the Prophet (s). There must be an opening. So I reached there safely and quickly by baraka of the Prophet (s). And I have to take a shower and go that holy place that Allah made piece of Paradise. The holy grave of the Prophet (s). The mistake we all make when we go to the Muwajaha, the holy place of Paradise I don’t like to say grave it is heavy on my heart to say “grave”; it is qata`n min al-jannah a piece of Paradise. So when you pass by a Paradise in this world what do you do? You stay as long as you can, you don’t want to go out.

So when we visit the Prophet (s), it is adab to stand as much as we can in his presence even not making du`a but only standing there trying to connect our heart with his heart. In a way that taffakur sa`atin khayran min ibaadati saba`een sunnah. That is for one hour when you are contemplating by yourself. How do you think it is when in presence of the Prophet (s)?

Everyone when passing there might stand 5 minutes, 7 minutes, 10 minutes and then go. Some might stand more and more and more and depends on how much they are in that connection. So in the guidance of our shuyukh we have visited the Prophet (s) with Mawlana Shaykh Nazim many times and may Allah give him long life and give long life to Mawlana Abdus Sattar. And I have seen how Mawlana Shaykh used to stand there and make du`a three and It is not a du`a really it is more like a conversation. You feel that you don’t see that but you need a lot to reach that level of mushaahada. But you feel the presence.

Since I used to go with my shaykh since 1967 he used to spend one hour or 1.5 hour there was no barrier as there is today. You have to kiss and move today.

So he used to stand one and a half hour and then he moved to Abu Bakr as-Siddiq and he stood another half hour and then to Sayyidina `Umar (r) another half an hour and then to Bab Jibreel, mahbit al-wahy - you know where Sayyidina Jibreel used to come with wahy to the Prophet (s) - and then we go back to the maqam of Sayyida Fatima az-Zahra that Grandshaykh said, "that angels have moved Sayyidina Fatima holy body to the end to the place where Sayyidina `Isa is to be buried” that is why awliyaullah see Sayyida Fatima there. and there he spends 45 minutes and then he goes to Bab at-Tawbah where he makes special du`a there (which is now closed) and makes sajda.

You have to take opportunity and whatever in my heart I was taking opportunity usually many guard come and tell you to move. But usually I don’t stand by the beginning I stand by the wall. And that night however many guards and one of them with red beard and he is head of these guards. And he didn’t approach me and didn’t let one guard to come to me. It is strange. Because you cannot stand one hour there or one and a half hours. They will come and say move even after five minutes.

So I finished and I went to kiss the pillar the big pillar which is in back as no one will see you. Then one of the big guards the head of them, came to me and I said to myself, it is finished now. He came to me and said you want to kiss the threshold of the Prophet (s) . I said yes. He took me to the door of the Prophet (s) and I was able to kiss the threshold of the Prophet (s) and everything disappeared no guards and I was seeing nothing but the threshold of the Prophet (s). And I kissed the threshold, and then I stood up and then everything came back as normal and then he came to me and said, "give my salaams to Shaykh Nazim” that is where you saw me there. I went and left. He never knew Shaykh Nazim and Shaykh Nazim never called him and he never called Shaykh Nazim.

I left and went to a school that is called Madrasat ash-Shoonah, ash-Shoonah School that Shaykh Nazim usually goes there. And I heard footsteps running behind me. And I said, "O they are coming” and I turned and one of the guards came and he was holding a very beautiful decorated Qur’an. And he gave it to me and said, "O Hisham. This is a gift from my father for Shaykh Nazim.” I thanked him and didn’t say anything or ask him anything. That is tark al-adab - beyond good conduct - to ask a question. Tariqah is not to ask anything, “asma`oo wa awoo – listen and act on what you heard.”

So I was so into it I was as if lost. So you cannot understand it though I don’t understand it now.

But is the mind in the head or the mind is in the heart Shaykh Abdul Haqq. They asked the students this question and they said, "is the mind in the head.” And he said, " no the mind is in the heart.” Is the mind in the heart bigger or the mind in head bigger. The mind in the heart is bigger. Evidence? The mind in the head with hit can you understand the universe.

ثُمَّ ارْجِعِ الْبَصَرَ كَرَّتَيْنِ يَنقَلِبْ إِلَيْكَ الْبَصَرُ خَاسِأً وَهُوَ حَسِيرٌ

Thumma irji`il-basara karratayni yanqallib ilayk al-basar khasiyan wa huwa haseer. Again turn thy vision a second time: (thy) vision will come back to thee dull and discomfited, in a state worn out. Al-Mulk, 67:4

Look at one star. Look two times even. Look at one star even.

Yanqalib ilayk al basaru khasiyan wa huwa haseer. Your sight returns back defeated. Your eyes are defeated from one star. What do you think about 80 billion stars in our galaxy? So what do we know? Nothing. So by mind in the head we know nothing.

But by mind in our heart we know everything. What did Allah say to the Prophet (s) and the Prophet (s) said to us?

يقول الله : ما وسعني أرضي ولا سمائي ولكن وسعني قلب عبدي المؤمن

That is why Allah, the Exalted, said, “Neither heavens nor earth contained Me, but the heart of My believing servant contained Me.”

Meaning: “the believer’s heart contained My light, My attributes, the understanding of the universe.” Not the Essence.

You think awliyaullah don’t have power to pass beyond this universe. They have or they don’t have? [they have!] Evidence? The Prophet (s) went beyond this universe or not? That universe that we are not seeing even one star. The Prophet (s) passed through 80 billion stars in our galaxy and then he passed 60 billion galaxies he passed all that and even further. Beyond this universe even. He reached Qaaba qawsayni.. so adna is what? It is so less that might be one centimeter might be 1 millimeter.

So Allah said to prophets, but specially to his saints. Qul ya Muhammad (s) in kuntum tuhiboon Allah fatabi`oonee yuhbibkumullah. This is khaas understanding for them.

Do awliyaullah follow the Prophet (s) or not. We might struggle to follow but they do not. They gave up their lives for the Prophet (s). That is spiritually. That means to follow the Prophet (s) in every step. That means that if prophet went for Mi’raj you go for Mi’raj. Else you are not a wali. Wali must follow in footsteps of prophet. Does wali love Allah or n ot. Yes that is condition to be wali. That means they are following in footsteps and going in Mi’raj. That is why they can guide. They are following and learning and giving.

Look what Sayyidina Abdul Qadir Jilani said? This is Fath ar-Rabbani. I was reading this today and I said, "I have to mention it.” I hope I still have it.

He said, "Ya Ghulam!” He calls his students who are big scholars, sitting facing them. They are sitting facing him and he is the Ghawth. He says, “Ya Ghulam!” You are a child still. You didn’t reach maturity yet. That is dangerous if we ware not mature how are we going to obey? How are we going to be responsible? Are you going to be responsible Abdul Haqq, yes or no? I am asking you. You have to understand when he says, “Ya Ghulam!” There is a secret there.

Because he is Ghawth. I never said that before, because we were going through that book in Ramadan every morning. But they are saying to throw it now.

So it means you aren’t responsible. You are still the the one responsible. Awliyaullah are responsible. If you take hand of your guide he is responsible to guide you. If not he is the one responsible.

Fee katab al-`ilmi wa hifshizh bi ghayri `amal. Without doing it. That is why it is dangerous. Many, many, many scholars spend their lives in doing what. They are doctors and scholars writing presentations but they are not doing what they learned.

He said, " aysh yanf`ak. This is not literature Arabic, this is slang. They put I like that as it is important. What is it going to benefit you if you are not doing it and not practicing it. You donkey. Spirituality is practice. Even you practice one amal a day it is better than memorizing thousands of them.

And he quoted hadith of the Prophet (s) which I like to mention yaqool Allah azza wa jall bi ’l-anbiya wa ’l-`ulama, Allah says on Judgment Day to the prophets and scholars, which means the pious people, “O if you thought yourself antum kuntum ru’atu khalqee, that you are the ones authorized to be shepherds for the nations, what you have done with your sheep, with your flocks? What you showed them and what you taught them. You are responsible and you are liable.”

That is why all prophets in Judgment Day where do they run towards Sayyidina Muhammad (s). As what are they gong to answer. So if anbiya run to the Prophet (s) where is the `alim on that day. Is there any more `alim? Even Anbiya are shaking. Where are the `ulama that are sitting on chairs in dunya and giving fatwas as if they are the biggest peacocks.

Then they have to run to the Prophet (s) - not directly to Allah. If not accepting then go to hell directly.

So you see too many kings today, sitting on his chair like rooster on his chickens. We are thinking ourselves kings. We ourselves think we are kings. Ask 2 people that are similar in their understanding. Do you find. No you won find. Because each has his own opinion. So the Prophet (s) said, "If you are three, put one an amir.” If you do that now they will fight one hour to see who is amir.

That is no spirituality it is to submit. Taslimiyya.

Allah says to them antum kuntum khazaan kunuzikum you were the trustees or the containers of my treasures. Because all the treasures are in hands of kings. Hal wasaltum al-fuqara. Did you make relation his with the poor. Sayyidina `Umar (r) when he became calipha, he was crying. His wife asked him why are you crying you became calipha. He said, now I have to cry. Now anyone is hungry I am responsible. he sued to carry sacks of food on his back and distribute to the poor people.

They are kings and queens they are holding the treasures of the world. They are raising the price of oil and sucking the blood of people. Today it is 60 from 160. Who raised it and who lowered it. In order to build their Gulf nations into prostitution. Go and see there. How that happened by them raising the price as a monopoly. And the poor become poorer and rich become richer.

And that is hadith of the Prophet (s) and quoted by Sayyidina Abdul Qadir Jilani and mentioned in Kanz al-`ummaal. Did you take care of the poor and did you take care of the aytam, orphans, how much food is sent to orphans and you find it next day in the market being sold. Wherever there are orphans and the food is sent to them like Pakistan and Kenya and..

Did you take from your money that is written on you as my right and give to poor people.

So were do we stand now. Are we ghulam now or not? We are ghulam now because we are responsible. But since we are ghulam we are not responsible. It is not me saying, it is Sayyidina Abdul Qadir Jilani saying it. He will take responsibility for them. One wali is enough to take everyone and put in Paradise in maq`ad sidqin. Be happy. You think the Prophet (s) can be alone in Paradise he has to have people with him.

Be happy, smile! that is maqam at-tashrif. And we go back to what we were saying.

When the Prophet (s) went in ascension, he saw Musa and always Sayyidina Musa has questions; he likes to ask questions.

Musa said ya rabbeee arinee anthur ilayk. It is so easy like that. Never the Prophet (s) has any question. Listen and obey. Listen to Sayyidina Jibreel. Never did he have questions.

Only one time. When he left seven heavens and he was going up he asked are you not coming with me. He asked for him to accompany as friend. He said, "I cannot.” The

Prophet moved to Divine Presence alone. He was in maqam at-tawheed. Today that is all they speak about tawheed, tawheed and all Muslims are kafir. Tawheed al-iloohiyya, tawheed ar-ruboobiyya and tawheed I forgot. Is prophet going to be alone with only this group that came recently. What about the Muslims who came before they were not on tawheed.

Ya akhee. Even he said, "Ya akhee” but he said, "Ya sayyidee, Ya Rasulullah! Of course he said, ana sayyidi waladi adam wa la fakhr. He said, “Can I ask this question as this comes to my heart all the time.

You said, "`ulama ummatee ka anbiya Bani Israel.” With all respect to scholars and not these scholars but the real scholars like Sayyidina Abdul Qadir Jilani .

You said, "They are inheritors of the Prophet (s), could it be their knowledge is like our knowledge? Inheritors are not like prophets but they have knowledge like prophets.

“Can you give me the answer ya Rasulullah how these people are going to inherit from prophets?”

He called one, through the souls, fil arwaah, as Allah said, "alastu bi rabbikum qaaloo bala. So the Prophet (s) can bring any soul he wants in past and in future. He brought one and that is one coming in future after time of the Prophet (s). He said, "That is one.”

Musa said, "What is your name?” He said, "Muhammad bin Muhammad,… Ghazali. Seven times. If he were able to say it 100 times he would have said it. But he felt shy form the Prophet (s). Musa said, "what is this? I thought you were an inheritor of the Prophet (s). Why did you say ‘Muhammad bin Muhammad bin Muhammad bin Muhammad bin Muhammad bin Muhammad bin Ghazali’?”

If I can say Muhammad (s) until Judgment Day it will not sop. Why because as much as you say the name of the Prophet (s), Allah send angels to say salaams on you.

So he said, “Ya Musa , why you object when I say ‘Muhammad bin Muhammad bin Muhammad bin Muhammad bin Muhammad bin Muhammad bin Ghazali’ why didn’t you object on yourself?” He said, " why?” because when Allah asked you what is in your hand, you said, " … you gave all the classifications of the can that you are going to use in your lifetime. Why? Because that is an honorary place. Maqam at-tashrif.

He said, "That is place of honor for me to be with the Prophet (s).

So that is difference between `alim and wali. How ot imitate the Prophet (s). He is happy to say Muhammad bin Muhammad. He can say Muhammad (s) Rasulullah, I can say Muhammad (s) Sayyid ar-Rusul. I can say ...

So practice is what is important.

And I would like to add to what Mawlana Abdus Sattar said that hadith of `Umar (r), that after he mentioned maqam al-ihsan and Sayyidina Jibreel said, "sadaqta” and then Sayyidina Jibreel had other questions. And he asked, “mata` as-sa`at ya Rasulullah.” Then the Prophet (s) said, "the one asked doesn’t know more than the one who is asking.” That is humbleness that he wants to hide himself. Then give the signs of it: “An tara al-hufaat al-araat yatataawaloona fil-bunyan - To see the naked barefooted Bedouins competing in high buildings.” Now go to see the Gulf and you find them building the highest rises in the world and you find them building of one kilometer. Buildings they are building in the desert and you still find them wearing slippers, they are Bedouins. Even they go to visit the kings of Europe they wear slippers.

So that is not humiliating anyone but that is hadith of the Prophet (s).

“When you see the barefooted naked Bedouins competing in building high buildings.” Are we seeing that or not? There is no more time, O Muslims!

Allah shook the earth three weeks ago. Did you see that earthquake? Allah can make the earth to shakes when He wants to - that was the stock market crash. That day [of judgment] is coming. So don’t let it to cheat us.

Sayyidina Abdul Qadir Jilani says in this book another place, yunaadee munadee yawm al-qiyama ayn adh-dhalamah – on the Judgment Day a caller will call out, “Where are the oppressors? Let them come!”

We are afraid to be oppressor to ourselves. Are we oppressors or not? We don’t know. Even he who doesn’t know if he is oppressor, he is struggling. If we are not oppressors to ourselves it means we don’t make sins. Then he is not oppressor. Do we make sins? Yes, say, "yes”, and ask forgiveness. That is better than saying, “no”.

Did we do hidden shirk or not? Anything related to themselves is hidden shirk.

And then it comes ayna awwaam adh-dhalama. Ayna man yara min qalaman. The oppressors used pen to judge people and send them to prison though the are innocent. Dhalama is one who will benefit from anyone, even they kill people. That is what we call mafia.

Look today mafia everywhere. Today if you don’t pay your car ticket what happens they send you to jail even. For a ticket that costs 60 or 10 you are afraid and you try not to go to jail. These CEOs that sucked billions of dollars of human being no one said I will put one of them in prison. Are they oppressors or not. All these people who benefit form stock market will be asked on Judgment Day, they made rich richer and the poor poorer. Where are the brokers. They made the rich richer. They are the commissioner. He knows them the commissioner they chat you. They buy for you gold sell gold. They come to you when gold drops, they say, "Sell quickly. Where are these one he says.

Ayna liman yara lahu qalamun. Did you find anyone in this crowd that has ink bottle?

Has anyone seen an ink bottle? Come here to witness on them.

Ajma`oohum waj`alhum fee taaboot min an-nar. Akhrajahu adh-Dhahabi and ibh Hajr.

That is from Sayyidina Abdul Qadir Jilani . That is general meaning of dhalam. Are we dhalama or not. Break it down. Zoom it in. we find ourselves dhalama in many things. So what Allah said in Holy Qur'an? And dhalama must go to that. Not those who suck money f people. But we say we are dhalama and Allah gave a way to dhalam in the zoom-in process.

Wa maa arsalnaa min rasoolin illa liyuta`a biithni Allahi wa law annahum idh dhalamoo anfusahum jaooka faistaghfarullaha wa’staghfara lahumu ar-rasoolu la-wajadullaha tawwaaban raheeman

We sent not an apostle, but to be obeyed, in accordance with the will of Allah. If they had only, when they were unjust to themselves, come unto thee and asked Allah's forgiveness, and the Messenger had asked forgiveness for them, they would have found Allah indeed Oft-returning, Most Merciful. An-Nisa [4:64]

Come to presence of Muhammad (s). From here you can go to the presence of Muhammad (s) and say, "Ya sayyidee, ya Rasulullah.” Allah said, "They come in your presence Ya Muhammad (s), and you ask forgiveness on their behalf.”

We ask istighfaar `inda hadarati Mustafa wa bi jahi al-Mustafa.

Why they try to diminish the greatness of Prophet Muhammad Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam

Obey Allah, obey his prophet and obey those who are on authority. Women 4:59

Sometimes people because of their short visions, they might give an analysis that diminishes the respect of people. That is why you have to be very careful in a situation that too much, give too much, like you praise someone so much, he thinks he knows everything and he covers all areas. Like these …. [adhan sounds, Mawlana stands up] They think they cover all areas because they become professors and they become doctors. Not these doctors [points to the doctors in audience] but especially doctors in Islamic Shariah. As soon as they get jealous from medical doctors because medical doctors are the ones who are called doctors. We know this since we are children. We never called a scholar a doctor. I never heard that except recently in the last 30 or 40 years. When we were young in our twenties or less we never heard someone is called doctor in Shariah.

They got jealous now from medical doctors, now everyone wants to call himself a doctor. With respect to their knowledge you want a scholar to be a real scholar at least he has to have decent respect to the Prophet (s). He has to have at least a respect to Sayyidina Muhammad (s) that when he speaks he knows what he is speaking. And because in front of their name “doctor” they think they have the right to say anything they like.

Unfortunately, [picture falls] this is a sign, another sign. So there is a sign in everything. Humbleness is needed to someone to be respected - he has to be humble. Not humble in your house or humble when you speak with someone, but to be humble to know you knowledge is not enough compared to knowledge of awliyaullah or Sahaba or the Prophet (s). Don’t try to speak as if the Prophet (s) doesn’t know.

I was looking at this article in this newspaper. It is from al-Ahram, an Egyptian newspaper, international page and I am looking, they spoke, they are speaking about at-Tibb an-Nabawi, showing it, the Prophetic Medicine. And if you look at these pictures only one has a turban. Only one has a turban - you see it. All the rest they have tie and suit, is it not? And at least keep respect. If they want to say, "we are doctors,” say, "we are doctors.” In front of all their names, doctor, doctor,… except one in front of his name is shaykh and the rest no turbans and they have in front of their name dal, d. abbreviation for doctor.

And because they are doctors they think they know everything. Why? The Prophet (s) gave them his secrets. And they say things here that they don’t feel shy or ashamed to mentioned. They are going to feel ashamed on Judgment Day and they say that the Prophet (s) doesn’t know about prophetic medicine. They say the Prophet (s) doesn’t know why we have to take what the Prophet (s) prescribed in his time. They were saying he was trying it on himself, thinking it will work.

One topic was “al-Qur'an shifa’un li’s-sudoor wa laysa li’l-abdan – the Qur’an is cure for the hearts, and not for the bodies.” What kind of … and this is a doctor, ad-dawktar among 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 doctors, everyone giving a different article. The other one says, al-`Asr an-nubuwwah la yukaas `alayh. Something in the time of the Prophet (s) and the Prophet (s) did in medicine and those people hukama wise people did something you cannot build on it. That is wrong. Don’t build on it. Go according to technology today.

Then another topic. “At-tibb lays bi-himmat arrusul - The medicine is not responsibility of messengers.”

Look the messengers are coming to guide human beings. Cannot the Prophet (s) Sayyidina Muhammad (s) - who went for Mi’raj - say to someone how to be cured and he will be cured? Instead they said “that is not the job of messengers.”

So that is scholars today. Scholars of the Ummah.

Another scholar here in al-Qudsu ’l-Arabi, from another university. Yarmi qissat gharamahu bi zawjatahu ath-thaniyya. Narrating the story of the love with his second wife and he says:

Al-hubbu janoon wal-janoon funoon- love is craziness and craziness is a kind of art.

When you become crazy you become an artist.

Wal-hayaatu shujoon - life is something full of pain suffering

Wa lillah fee khalqihi shu`oaon - And Allah has in his servants what He gave to them.

And he is speaking of his love for his second wife, and he is very famous, he is [even] called Shaykh al-Islam today. I don’t have anything but respect for them. But don’t bring Islam so low.

For Sayyidina Muhammad (s) you don’t want to accept things he did and in one article you reject what he said and in another you don’t feel ashamed to speak about what you did in love. He might be very old and he is marrying someone very young. What effect on those who are very young if our shuyukh are doing something like that, what about they youth?

So these who call themselves doctors in Islam, they don’t have any more wisdom. They don’t have except what they memorized or what they learned. They are not like the four Imams: Imam Abu Hanifah, Imam Malik or Imam Shafi`ee or Imam Ahmad ibn Hanbal or other Imams who came through history. They are not wise anymore

If they are wise at least five a good description of the Prophet (s)ic medicine. Don’t say it is not worth anything to do today. In everything that happened in this life, in everything that the Prophet (s) did. Didn’t they read in Surat an-Najm, that even if the Prophet (s) coughs it is revelation:

وَمَا يَنطِقُ عَنِ الْهَوَى إِنْ هُوَ إِلَّا وَحْيٌ يُوحَى

Wa ma yantiqa an il-hawa in huwa illah wahyun yuhaa - and neither does he speak out of his own desire: that [which he conveys to you] is but [a divine] inspiration with which he is being inspired An-Najm, 53:3-4

He never said anything that is from his own desires. It has to be revelation.

Is it not Shaykh Abdus Sattar? [Yes haqqan.] haqqan wa sidqan. What they are saying in these articles is that all these medicines that the Prophet (s) used to prescribe for people are not important, as it is not revelation. It is an experience he tried it, it didn’t work out, it failed; it didn’t fail. They are telling the Ummah that don’t follow the Prophet (s). That is the smallest meaning we can understand. Because in everything that the Prophet (s) said there is a secret. Awliyaullah in every move they do, you go to a wali and ask “what do I have to read?” he will tell you what to read, and in it there must be a secret.

I will tell you a story. Grandshaykh may Allah bless his soul, he said, "Ahl ul-Aza’im ahlu’t-tariqah. Ahlu ’l-aza’im at-tariqah are Ahl at-tariqah. Those who try to hold very tight on the azeema, on the strongest the highest level of Shariah law or discipline they try to hold on that not to go to easy way, the easy is allowed - no problem - but the highest way is better so they keep on the highest way.

Like for example the easy way when you want to go to sleep you don’t sleep on wudu. But awliyaullah don’t accept. They say we must sleep on wudu and must pray two raka`ats. And Ahl al-aza’im if they wake you up at night they must make new wudu if they get up at night [to use bathroom] that is in cold places even. Even if they go to bathroom five times they must make wudu and pray Sunnat al-wudu five times. That is different between Ahl al-aza’im vs. Ahl al-rukhas. He said al-wali min ahl al-aza’im.

They must take the hardest level on themselves but with students may take easier way.

[ala Qadir ..]

He said that “according to their levels, Allah will open of them al-maqaam la-fardaani the Unique Station. It is a unique station. The al-maqaam la-fardaani, for every wali there is a unique station for that wali. And above all of them you reach to Sultan al-awliya the Ghawth, he is on the highest unique station the ibn `Arabi described in his Futuhat, that the Nabi is the golden brick and on the other side facing him is Sultan al-awliya who is the silver brick. That means that Sultan al-awliya is always facing Sayyidina Muhammad (s) and receiving from him to dispatch to all other walis. And don’t say there are only wali in Naqshbandi. There 124,000 wali. This one sitting beside you is a wali [points to Shaykh Abdus Sattar Khan]. Anyone in Chicago goes to him, Allah accepts his du`a.

So anyone who is in that circle of al-maqaam la-fardaani is going to be in the circle of the Prophet (s). And he said that, “one time”, and I am quoting Grandshaykh in the story he mentioned. In his village there was a rich businessman in his area in Dagestan. Mawlana was young at that time. There was a rich man wants to go for hajj. So they take first, they walk on camels until they reach a sea and they take a ship and they go for Jeddah, then Jeddah to Mecca. He was accompanying another person but that person was one form awliyaullah , a wali. So he took him with him and said, “You are my companion. I will spend everything on you, you come with me.” That wali has reached the maqam al-fardani one of the unique stations. When you accompany a wali, don’t think it is going to be easy now. It is better not to accompany now because you go and come is not going to be easy. He wants to be sure your hajj is accepted. That is why he said there are three things you have to ask your shaykh. One is when you want to travel for hajj you have to ask your shaykh he gives permission or not. Because not every time Allah sends his mercy or his manifestation on the people at Arafat. Because hajj is Arafat. When you stand on Arafat that is hajj even you didn’t follow the rest it will not be complete but you will be called hajji. So they look at Lawh al-Mahfouzh is it this year Allah is sending his manifestation of his Beautiful Names and Attributes. If not they tell you don’t go. They tell you go next year. But if you never went, then you must go. Because it is obligation. But when you begin to go more and more then you ask as it into obligation.

Also when you want to marry, you might be in love with someone but you must ask the shaykh as it might not be the one written for you. And when you want to migrate from one place to another you must ask. You cannot go without asking, three places.

So he went to that man and said, "I want you to accompany me to hajj.” And he said, "yes”, and he took him and went. On the way they took a boat and they went on the boat. That man, like today, when you carry your passport and your money what do you do with it? You keep hiding it - you don’t want to lose it.

Everyone is holding onto their money. So was that rich man who is accompanying that shaykh. That Shaykh is from the Naqshbandiyya from the silsilah of Grandshaykh. There are 7007 shaykhs. Not each one is carrying from the main line the secret. There might be one main shaykh and there are five or ten that he gives secrets, to do work here and there. So he was accompanying him and he told him, “Where are you putting your money?” He said, “I am putting it on my chest and I am tying it under my clothes. I don’t want it to be lost.” So he said, "give it to me - I will take care of it.” So that man doesn’t want to give it to that wali.

Sometimes we make mistakes. If a wali asks you something don’t say “no”. Allah might save you from many difficulties you don’t know about.

So he said, “Give it to me; I will keep it for you.” He said, "No, I am putting in a safe place.”

So he said, "As you like.” Then they were on the boat. And suddenly and this was one of these big boats that used to come to Jeddah, 90 years ago. On it, someone has a monkey on the boat. Bringing with him a monkey to Jeddah; it might be he wants to live there and raise monkeys, Allah knows. So that monkey came out of nowhere jumping on that man and stealing that money from that man and going all the way up on the sur, the mast of the boat. No one can reach there. And then he opened the bank, and in it was 1000 golden coins. One golden coin he throws to the man, and one golden coin he threw to the sea. One to the man, one to the sea. That man was crying that the money is gone. One to him, one to the ocean. One to him, one to the ocean until it is finished. 500 the ocean took and 500 the man took.

That man was so angry, he had his wife with him he was so angry. The wali said, "Why are you angry?” He said, "You didn’t see what happened?” He said, “Ok, that is good what happened. But look nothing will happen without Allah’s Will. And don’t talk too much or else I will be away from you.” Then he was worried as he knows this is a wali.

As they are speaking like that, the man is still angry but the wali is reciting some awraad and he is teaching it to the man’s wife and she was hearing that and he asked her, “What are you learning?” He said, "Can I read it?” Then she … at the moment he was arguing with the shaykh the women was taking ablution and she slipped and fell in the ocean. So look if you want to accompany the shaykh it will be difficulty. So that is why they say, “If you want to be near the shaykh it is being near fire.”

So what happened?

The lady disappeared. They looked, they stopped the boat they looked, they didn’t find her. So the man was crying. He lost his wife and he lost his money. He was shouting, “What kind of shaykh are you? What kind of wali are you? Why did I bring you?”

Why I brought this story. These doctors, they don’t understand the Prophetic medicine. They said, “no” to prophetic medicine: “why to eat this or that?” They don’t know, they are not wise anymore. They were more wise in the past. Even `Ali al-Qaari they were finding very smallest detail to praise the Prophet (s) and now they are trying to find every smallest detail to put down the Prophet (s).

So what happened? That businessman kafara, not in the meaning that he denied Allah’s presence. We say kafara in Arabic, but in the meaning that he got fed up with the shaykh. He doesn’t want to see him anymore.

The shaykh didn’t talk anything and the boat is sailing. They reached the port. And the people are coming out. Look. And the man saw his wife. By the boat, on the dock. …

He was so happy that he saw his wife. And he looked at her and he said, "I am happy to see you. How you… you fell down in the ocean in the sea, what happened?” She said, "Ask the Shaykh.”

Now he understood he made a big mistake. Why to tell him “ask the Shaykh”? It means she saw something coming from that wali. “Ask the wali, ask the Shaykh!” He came to him and said, “Ya sayyidee!” Now he is saying “Ya sayyidee!” Before he was denying. He said, “I am still angry because I lost the money, but I am happy to see my wife.”

Don’t underestimate the power of awliyaullah. Don’t say, "Why we are not seeing these miracles anymore?”

This is the century of ignorance. That is what the Prophet (s) said that, “when ignorance is over all the earth then Allah will send one of my grandchildren to bring out the knowledge.” There are awliyaullah but there tongues are frozen. They cannot say. If they say it is scrambled. Allah changes their tongues. If they want to say, "I saw Sayyidina Mahdi and he is here in this room and he is ordering his deputies to be here and listen to the suhbat.” And that wali’s words will become scrambled so that what he is saying is like reciting Qur’an or reciting a hadith. And he says that but the people will hear something completely differently. That is why in the same association the people hear the shaykh differently. They hear in a different code and different wavelength and that is why they hear different.

So that wali said, "O my brother. I learned from my Shaykh and he learned from his Shaykh and he learned from his Shaykh all the way to the Prophet (s) that if anyone wants to travel from one place to another by boat or camel, that there are a lot of beings on these streets. They might be heavenly they might be earthly. There are a lot of animals, might be domestic and might be wild. And there are many … might be tyrants. If you recite ‘Bismillahi 'r-Rahmani 'r-Raheem dhaalika taqdeer al-`azeezu ’l-hakeem’ Allah will take care of you, even if the boat is drowning, Allah will send special angels to take you to shore.”

That is why Grandshaykh and Mawlana Shaykh said, "When you travel on a boat or plane and recite ‘Bismillahi 'r-Rahmani 'r-Raheem dhaalika taqdeer al-`azeezu ’l-hakeem’ and Allah will send angels to protect you. And on that wird there are angels who are responsible for anyone who recites it.

The shaykh said, "I taught that to her to recite and she was reciting that every day and when she fell she saw an angel come and take her from the ocean.”

And she said, "sadaqa ash-shaykh- the shaykh spoke the truth,” The Shaykh said, "If I was not with you, your wife would be dead now. That is first help I did for you. The second one, you are coming for hajj and you owe Allah money because you didn’t pay your zakaat. So in order for your hajj to be accepted you have to pay the zakaat money. You didn’t pay voluntarily so we sent that monkey to take that money and send Allah’s right to the ocean and give whatever balance is for you.”

“That is second thing that made your hajj to be accepted.”

I brought that story by Mawlana’s permission, answering those who wrote that article on Tibb an-Nabawi, Prophetic medicine. These people are blind from being saints. `Ulama al-ummah they were before scholars and awliyaullah at same time, Allah gave them secrets. Today they are doctor, doctor, doctor. That is arrogance! Take that doctorship and throw it. Why do you want to put in front of your name dal, “doctor”? Why do you want to say “doctor”? You are telling the people you are a doctor. You are trying to find a way to please the newspaper and because they brought that question to you in order to say the Prophet (s) didn’t know. Why? You want to make non-Muslims not to look at the Prophet (s) high? They want to diminish the status of the Prophet (s). This is Muslim and non-Muslims read that. If a non-Muslim reads that what will he say? “How do you say your Prophet went for Mi’raj and he cannot prescribe a medicine?”

Why to stir the mud? If you are blind don’t make the Ummah blind.

There are secrets in every Word of Allah and in every one of the Beautiful Names and Attributes and in every word that the Prophet (s) said in his life from the beginning of his life when his mother gave birth to him up to his passing. He was asking for his Ummah. Why Sayyidina `Isa Alayhissalam can talk in the birth and Sayyidina Muhammad (s) cannot talk in his birthday?

About Sayyidina `Isa Alayhissalam,

Fa ashaarat ilayhi qaaloo kayfa nukallimu man kaana fi’l-mahdi sabiyya, Qaala innee `abdullaahi aataaniya al-kitaaba wa ja`alanee nabiyya wa ja`alanee mubarakan ayna ma kuntu wa awsaanee bi’s-salati wa’z-zakaati maa dumtu hayya; Wa barran bi-waalidatee wa lam yaj`alnee jabbaaran shaqiyya. Wa’s-salaamu `alayya yawma wulidtu wa yawma amootu wa yawma ub`athu hayya.

Thereupon she pointed to him. They exclaimed: "How can we talk to one who [as yet] is a little boy in the cradle?" He said: "I am indeed a servant of Allah. He hath given me revelation and made me a prophet; and [has endowed me with] piety towards my mother; and He has not made me haughty or bereft of grace. "Hence, peace was upon me on the day when I was born, and [will be upon me] on the day of my death, and on the day when I shall be raised to life [again]!" Maryam [19:29-30]

Ataanee al-kitab - He gave me the Kitaab, al-Injeel. He still didn’t give to him nubuwwah, still he was a baby in the cradle. First he said, "I am `Abdullah.” He didn’t say, "I am a Nabi.” He said, "I am a servant.” You cannot be a prophet before you become a servant. When you reach that level. All of us by tongue we say we are `abd but we didn’t reach the level of servanthood. He said, “I am a servant of Allah and He gave me the Book,” before he received the book. You have to have a book before you become a prophet – “Wa ja`alanee nabiyya - Then He made me a prophet. Then He made me blessed wherever I am and He commanded me to pray and commanded me to give charity as long as I am alive.”

Why the Prophet (s) who went for Mi’raj? Sayyidina `Isa Alayhissalam is in the first heaven, he was raised waiting permission to come. Sayyidina Muhammad (s) went to:

فَكَانَ قَابَ قَوْسَيْنِ أَوْ أَدْنَى

Fa kaana qaaba qawwsayin aaw adna – two bow’s length or nearer. An-Najm [53:9]

Sayyidina `Isa Alayhissalam was curing the sick and he was raising the dead. If Sayyidina Muhammad (s) said eat “this cloth and you will be cured” - you will be cured. Not listening to these stupid people and what they are saying - with all my respect to what they study.

Look today every true Muslim is carrying the shoes of the Prophet (s) to show it is honor for us to up the shoes of the Prophet (s) on our head. They ask, their followers to be dust on the shoes of the Prophet (s). And if you go into what scholars have said about the Prophet (s), you know that he and one pair of shoes and four khuffs. If you look explanation of scholars for his shoes, if his shoes has baraka, what he says about medicine is not full of baraka. I am not saying not to go to doctor. Go but don’t come against the Prophet (s) with such article. That is why in every wird or adab you mention there is a secret. Awliyaullah give you to recite as they want to raise through recitation to take you up to the Maqam al-Fardani to the unique station that is not simple and not easy. Awliyaullah are not playing with us.

He said whoever likes to go to paradise it is simple - follow the five obligations: Shahadatu an la ilaha illa-Allah anna Muhammad Rasulullah, wa iqamus-salaat wa ita’uz-zakaat, wa sawmu Ramadan wa hajju’l-bayt. But if you want to be with the Prophet (s) in

فِي مَقْعَدِ صِدْقٍ عِندَ مَلِيكٍ مُّقْتَدِرٍ

maq`adi sidqin `inda maleekin muqtadir - In an Assembly of Truth, in the Presence of a Sovereign Omnipotent. Al-Qamar [54:55]

You have other procedures to follow you have to follow the other procedures.

So Grandshaykh said, you do your obligation - that is ok. But that doesn’t mean you are not a wild animal. Because the human being is a “talking animal - haywaanin naatiq.” You cannot say why he is calling us talking animal. You can be wild or you can be domestic. He said, "awliyaullah they look at these doctors, now I am adding this up, they say they look at these people who only do five obligations without doing the Maqam al-Ihsan they are not trying to perfect their behavior and they are looking only from very narrow perspective the minimum not looking at azeema but following rukhsa. They are like wild animals that have been release in a jungle. They go everywhere they are wild.

And he said, "Those who are awliyaullah and their students who are following a wali, their description is like a mountain and what you find on the mountain. You find on the mountain wild animals.”

All these doctors, doctors, doctors that think they are the peacock of the Ummah are stepping on the mountain thinking they can crush it. But who can harm a mountain? If a million people will step on mountain they will not affect it. Awliyaullah are mountains. And their followers are rocks on these mountains. And it is very difficult to remove these rocks. These people can mingle among the mureeds but they cannot distract their levels. Always they are going higher and higher, awliyaullah.

He said “la tabadal wa la tughayyir - No change and not alteration to mountains, like oceans.” Look he is quiet. They are like oceans. Even you throw all, look Chicago here, where all the sewers go? To Lake Michigan. And lake is sweet and it is a lake. It becomes dirty? No. What you think then about the ocean? It never gets dirty and even all sewers of whole world will go in it is still clean you can clean with it and take shower with it.

Awliyaullah are like oceans they eat the sins of human being and their waste. They clean them and send them back clean. They can pay and reach the Prophet (s).

He said you are connected with an ocean you are connected with a sultan that connects you with Sultan as-sultan Sayyidina Muhammad (s). May Allah keep us always with the Prophet (s) and we will continue this later insha-Allah Wa min Allah at-tawfeeq bi-hurmati 'l-Fatiha .
